How Do Induction
Loop Systems
Work?
Induction
loop systems consist of a thin wire that is placed around the listening
area*, a special amplifier and microphone(s). Speech signals are
amplified
and circulated through the loop wire. The resulting magnetic energy
field
is detected and amplified by the "telecoil" or telephone switch
circuitry
common to many hearing aids, cochlear implants and induction loop
receivers.
The end result is a high quality amplified reproduction of the original
speech signal. Intelligibility is greatly increased because the
distance
between the speaker and the listener(s) is bridged and background
environmental
noise is reduced. (Click on above
image for an enlarged version.) Above illustration adapted with

*The unique Portable
InfoLoop
is a one-on-one system that integrates the loop wire, microphone,
electronics
and rechargeable battery into a compact carrying case.

Hearing
Assistance Systems
Provide Cost-Effective Solutions
When compared to FM and infrared systems, Oval Window Audio's hearing
assistance
systems are both cost-effective and
unobtrusive.
Unlike FM and infrared systems, induction loop systems are easy to
maintain and are
compatible with telecoil-equipped hearing aids — already owned by many
hard of hearing people — so you don't need receivers or
headphones
for each hearing impaired individual.
Every Oval Window Audio induction loop system complies with
the Americans
With Disabilities Act and Technical
Standard
IEC 60118-4.
"We used the new system at our holiday
party in December and it worked wonderfully! It will be such a pleasure
and relief to know that we can provide an enhanced listening experience
to our members." - Amy Becktell, Boulder Hearing Loss Association of
America, Chapter President
"Everything is working great! The system has been in use for the last
several weeks now and we have had very positive response so far from
those using it. You can add us to your list of satisfied customers!" -
Jeff Mejeur, Grace Christian Reformed Church, Kalamazoo, MI
"Oval Window Audio systems are
the standard
in the U.S. Capitol buildings. . . because they are inexpensive, last
forever
and require zero maintenance. Nothing offers the convenience to hearing
impaired people and the venue that an Oval Window Audio loop does!"
--Al
Lacomyj, Architect of the Capitol, Washington, D.C.
